I feel the Makoto matchup is misunderstood by many players. It’s no secret this is one of the few instances in 3s where a 100% combo is actually viable. Regardless I feel like Gouki has enough of his own threats to make this matchup pretty much even. As a Gouki player, you have tons of options to evade karakusa, and just in general have great mobility in this match, as well as equal damage dealing ability. Don’t get me wrong, Makoto is still tough, but you have the tools to win this match consistently!

Reality
I just had a recent dose of reality. It’s always fun to live your own little world behind a television or computer monitor and say how bad people are and how you think you’re on a whole different tier then other players. The same thing goes with playing at your home arcade or small community of players. It’s time to wake up. You can’t consider your self good until you go to an away tournament and play people you don’t normally play with on a setup that you aren’t used to. I’ve recently come to that conclusion. I don’t consider my self top tier but I do consider my self a high mid tier player, but after going to an away tournament after several years, I’ve come to conclusion that I’m not even that good. I maybe good at doing combos in “non pressure” casuals, but placing 5th in a tournament is not, in my mind, is not something to be proud of. In conclusion you’re all scrubs
